Our story

Founded in 2020 in Hamburg, Germany, we began crafting handmade, custom woodworking pieces for friends and family. Our dedication to quality and unique design quickly gained recognition, leading us to expand into larger and more complex projects. In 2022, we relocated to Toronto, bringing our passion for exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to using local materials to a new community.

About the founder

I’m Alex Johnston, the founder of Alden Fine Woodworks. I started Alden Fine Woodworks out of a passion for blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, as a means to enhance any space. What I love about furniture design is is ability to impact a space not only in terms of its ascetics but also it function.
